Chesney has spent more than a decade helping musicians and singers grow their skills. Growing up a pastor’s kid and daughter of a worship leader, she loved music and the local church from a young age. Over time, she felt a calling into worship leadership and had many growth opportunities along the way.

However... many times when leading a song or singing harmony, she became frustrated at the tension in her voice, the way it hurt to sing high notes, the pitchy-ness and lack of control... why did everything feel so hard? With no resources to help in these areas, she kept singing with this unhealthy (and not-great-sounding) technique for years.

 

In college, Chesney encountered classical voice technique. While this improved things like vibrato and breath control, it didn’t give her the power and vocal range she desired for leading in a contemporary worship setting. Then, she stumbled upon the Worship Vocalist website and the transformational coaching influence of Charmaine Brown (protégé of Brett Manning). The rest is history. After completing several of Charmaine’s courses, she felt true freedom, control, and confidence in her voice for the first time! High notes were easier, vocal runs became possible, and her tone filled out and matured like never before. And that was just the tip of the iceberg!

It was through this journey she really noticed an improvement not only vocally, but in her confidence and stage presence as well. To her surprise, improving her vocal technique helped her grow in OTHER ways she couldn't have even imagined! In the years that followed, with the Lord's help, Chesney was able to step into her calling to worship ministry with power and confidence.

Since completing her Worship Vocalist Coaching Certification in February 2023, she has discovered a newfound passion for helping singers unlock their full vocal potential. After using these techniques in her own voice for years and experiencing such awe-inspiring results, she can't help but share the simple, but life-changing, techniques with other aspiring vocalists!

Chesney lives in Southern Illinois with her husband, Andrew, and adorable kiddos, Charlie and Natalie. In her down time, you'll probably find her attempting another new bread recipe, or enjoying a board game or movie night with friends and family.
